Service Reminders

In order for us to service your containers, please note the following conditions and be sure all on-site staff is aware:

  • Keep snow and ice cleared from around your containers.
  • Be sure vehicles or other items aren’t blocking the container on your pickup day.
  • Collection trucks run Monday-Friday including ALL holidays.
  • If you use a lock to secure your container, it must be a combination lock and you must provide STR with the combo. We cannot service key locks.
  • We require at least 24 hours notice for special pickup requests/on-call pickup orders.

 

Recycling Services

Want to separate recyclable material at your business? We have containers available for mixed recycling (plastic, glass, aluminum, paper, & cardboard) as well as cardboard only. Separated recycling containers aren’t required for commercial customers – STR will continue to sort through commercial bins for recyclables – but they are encouraged. Contact us to set up service today: 530-541-5105.

Commercial customers can also drop off your separated cardboard at no charge. You’ll simply need to set up an account for our Resource Recovery Facility so we can weigh the load. Come see us at 2140 Ruth Ave. to get set up.

 

Turning trash to compost: STR’s food waste program

Are you a California business producing food waste? If so, you may be required to separate it from the rest of your garbage. But have no fear, the food waste recycling program is not as challenging as you might think.

You can start by just having your kitchen staff set aside food scraps from prep. We provide easily identifiable 5-gallon buckets for scraps in the kitchen and can provide either a 1- or 2-yard locking container for your weekly pickups. In many cases businesses that start separating their food waste can reduce the size and/or pickup frequency of their trash container. Or if you have less than 20 gallons per week, you might qualify for an exemption or to bring it to us at no charge.
