It’s Always Bear Season in Tahoe! Make Sure Dumpsters are Secured
Please be sure that your containers are not overfilled and are always locked/secured when not in use. That means closing the lids and securing the lockbar or chain with a clip or a combination lock. If you use a combo lock, be sure you provide our office with the combo so we can access it for your collection day.
When bears or other wildlife get into the garbage, it’s bad for the animal and leaves a huge mess. If there’s trash scattered outside your container on your pickup day, you may be assessed a cleanup fee and/or referred to local authorities for additional enforcement.
Commercial Recycling Options: Carts Now Available
Want to separate recyclable material at your business? In addition to dumpster service, STR now offers 65-gallon carts for mixed recycling. Mixed recycling includes: plastic, glass, aluminum, paper, & cardboard. Contact us to learn about pricing and to set up service today: 530-541-5105. Commercial Organics Services
California customers are required to separate organic material from the rest of the trash. Organic material includes food waste as well as yard waste. STR provides separated containers for both materials. Contact us today to learn about your options. We can set you up with a temporary dumpster for yard waste, a permanent dumpster for food scraps, and/or help you register as a self-hauler if you prefer to bring the material to our facility yourself (or have landscaper haul it). Our goal is make it simple for you to be compliant.
Service Reminders
In order for us to service your containers, please note the following conditions and be sure all on-site staff is aware:
- Keep snow and ice cleared from around your container.
- Be sure vehicles aren’t blocking the container on your pickup day.
- Collection trucks run Monday-Friday including ALL holidays.
- If you use a lock to secure your container, it must be a combination lock and you must provide STR with the combo. We cannot service key locks.
- We require at least 24 hours notice for special pickup requests/on-call pickup orders.
